Truth bomb: THE FEAR WILL NEVER COMPLETELY GO AWAY

When I first started my coaching business, I waited until I felt just a *little* better, or a *little* more confident, or a *little* less afraid. Oh my goodness, did I wait. And wait, and wait, and wait. You know the drill: you wait to feel like you have the “right information” before posting anything online; you wait to feel more confident; you wait to read more books; you wait to subscribe to just 10,000 more lists before you finally get out there and offer anything to anyone. Am I right?

Well, I have to let you in on something: the fear will never completely go away.

Why?

Because there is always the next step to take, there are always more ways to grow, and those steps and ways are scary. We are afraid of failure, success, being seen, looking dumb on camera, you name it, someone is probably afraid of it. We are afraid of wearing the wrong thing, or saying the wrong words or, GASP, that we won’t get any clients. It’s a catch-22. We keep ourselves safe from rejection of ALL kinds, while we slowly kill our own dreams.

Here’s the thing: YOU CAN LIVE WITH YOUR FEARS ARISING AND STILL BE SUCCESSFUL. (mega successful)

Of course you should work on your mindset and skills. Of course you should mantra the hell out of your wealth beliefs. Of course you should get to a hibe vibe place. However, that doesn’t mean that FEAR IS DEAD. The reason we do those things is so that when we face fear, WE DO NOT RUN the other way. When we face fear, we invite it in. When we face fear, we dance with it.

Fear is there to protect us from getting pummeled. It does its job, and it does its job well (it shows up rain or shine). But that doesn’t mean we have to take orders from it.

SO WHAT CAN WE DO?

STEP 1: Change the conversation.
When you’re afraid to post something online, to take the next big step, to get your face out there, we change the conversation. We say, “fear, I hear you, I respect you, but I don’t need you right now; I’m going to post my post / share my blog / get some clients. Thanks for showing up, but you gotta go.”

STEP 2: We SHIFT our thoughts and emotions to what we WANT.
We say, "how awesome will it be when this post attracts the right people? How good will it feel when I help someone who needed to hear this today?" AND SO ON.

You see, if you wait for fear to disappear, you’ll wait forever.

However, if you EMPOWER yourself in the face of fear, you’ll have all you need to keep moving forward, walk past your fear, right out of the room, right out of the house, and into the massive UNIVERSE that is waiting for you to shine.

Let's shine.

What ways is fear showing up for you today? How will you change the conversation?
